Yes I do have something specific I need help with.

My 3x GGrandfather came from Pentraeth, Thomas Rowland a Tailor by trade died in Chapel Street, Pentraeth.   My issue being they are of the Independant denomination and the christian/surnames change about ie. Rowlands to Thomas, Baptisms etc recorded at nearest available parishes etc etc.  This is not an easy task I need to know that Im on the right track.

Pentraeth itself cannot be very large - does anyone have any local knowledge of the Rowlands family?  If I decided to visit Pentraeth it would be nice to have someone to talk to

I know Chapel Street I think. My great grandparents lived in a small lodge on the outskirts of Pentraeth and went to a very unusual chapel there which has now been converted to flats.The vicar of the Church there is very helpful and the graveyard has many old graves some of which were moved when the road was changed quite a few years ago. The Anglesey Archives in Llangefni have extensive information and are extremely helpful.
Pentraeth is not a big village and I wish you luck.

I also used to visit a family on Chapel Street with my Dad when I was a child but cannot recall their names.

Are you referring to the vicar of St. Mary's Church in Pentraeth, if so you have given me a good suggestion there because they would have been buried in the churchyard, regardless of their denomination.

The chapel you mention would that have been Ebenzer Independant by any chance?

I do not know if it was Capel Ebenezer but it could have been. Somewhere on this site I put a photo of it - as I had photo of the elders on the steps. The roof was slate and a bit like an upturned boat. Many of my relatives classed themselves as calvanistic methodists. There is an Ebenezer chapel in Llanfairpwll too and they were congregationalists ( Annybynwyr in welsh).  Yes it is St Marys Church - the vicar now manages 9 churches and has help.
