Really sorry but just realised I made a typo in my previous message!

I'm always doing that  ;D

ADDED; Might Barnett's mother's family be in London in 1911? Trying to think what Russian name 'sounds like' Iseefichmon....

I think it is definitely a possibility she had family in London, I haven't discovered any yet but doesn't mean there weren't any :)

Have you found Barnett on the 1939 register? if so what date of birth does he give there?

Do you know when Barnett died?

Just dug out the record I have for him, his birth is given as 25th December 1903 on the register :) He died in 1966

What happens if you take into account a Russian accent?

Sep 1904

HONICKBERG    Barnet         St. Geo East    1c   307

cross-reffing with the GRO gives mmn Vizeman

do you know what the surname was before it was Anglicized?

what about a Russian accent and a Welsh speaking registrar? what else could Iseefichmon be?

:) Definitely sounds good! I'm not sure about the surname, other relatives have said possibly HOHN or HOREN...

...then add in a transcription error by registrar to GRO index ;D

I would say that certificate is worth a punt.

so as he was born late in Dec 1903, if correct, his birth is most probably going to be registered Mar 1904

This birth fits was a 7 year old Barnett Honickberg on the 1911 census at 15 Cannon St Road, St George in the East.
