Noddy Beginners Question
« on: Friday 11 November 16 16:24 GMT (UK) »
Howdy - dabbling in family history and already hit a wall - my father was born in 1933 in Kent (we think) - he was adopted by a family in Birmingham. He passed away in 1997 but along the way destroyed his adoption records - I want to find his original birth certificate or adoption record - where do I start??
Thanks in advance
simonf

Hi and welcome to Rootschat, have you his marriage certificate to your mother in the hope he showed his "Real father"?

Awkward one though?

I'm pretty sure the marriage cert has no detail - the only detail I have is birthdate: 24/04/33

Hi simonfitzpatrick,

Nothing really to add, except to say welcome to Rootschat, and don't ever worry about asking a daft question  :)

I do it all the time  ;)
