Let us remember those of all generations who made the ultimate sacrifice to insure our freedom and way of life.

Very sad that you think that way, Derek.  I think, maybe, that we all have our own ways of remembering those who gave their lives, some of them more private than others.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

derekwg - I haven't look at Roots for a few days so didn't see your post.  I do remember all who fell in the two world wars and wars since, including my g.uncle and I'm sure others remember their relatives/ancestors.

derekwg,
I saw your post and read it but didn't realise that you wanted responses. I just thought you were paying your own tribute.
As has been said, I am sure that the majority of rootschatters remembered their ancestors and those brave men and women.
I did hear that more people than ever take part in or watch Remembrance  Parades and services in the present day.
Our local evening paper, has some poignant photographs of children in schools and shoppers all pausing to remember plus local parades and services yesterday.

Quite a number of RootsChatters  have had "Poppies" in there avatar all month - as they have done in previous years as well.
