Death of Mary MONTGOMERY
« on: Monday 14 November 16 05:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi people

I'd appreciate some assistance in finding details of the death of Mary MONTGOMERY.  She was born (nee GRAHAM) in either 1844 or 1849 depending on which Census is right.  She was living in 1911 with her husband Thomas in Cashel, County Monaghan.  He died in 1912.  The family was Presbyterian.

I can't find a registered death for her that fits (there is one in 1919 for a woman aged 70, but she is still married and the district isn't right), nor another marriage.

Any ideas?

Hi ctrunfree,

One possibility: there’s a Mary Jane Montgomery (birth 1844) died September quarter 1914 Dungannon county (from familysearch).

A quick check of the death certificate and the 1911 census returns for her and the informant (her daughter) show that this isn't the right person:

Furthermore, the 1919 death ...

... matches this 1911 Derrycush census return, so right to disregard it:

They went to Church in Clontibret but don't see a headstone for them.
