I don't think they've got as many members now but had good threads and the finding living relatives is very useful

It's probably aimed at new subscribers.  I have been a paying member in the past but let it lapse.  Just looked at the subscribe page and it gives you the full paying options.

The one thing that annoyed me about Genes was the fact that I couldn't delete a thread that I had contributed to without deleting all my contributions which would leave holes in the thread.

It seems that you can delete a thread that you are watching but not one you have contributed to.  I think I wrote to Genes about this but it doesn't seem to have had any effect.

Surely not difficult to provide a delete button to get rid of the thread without deleting ones contributions?

you can delete threads you've started and your posts on any threads

do you mean stop following it ...?there is a my threads and a my watched threads option so you only get notifications on the ones you want to follow .

Admin on there doesnt seem to respond to any queries anymore .

I get the impression that you can only delete the threads that you are watching and have not contributed to.

Once you contribute to a thread it goes in the My Threads section and there is no delete button to get rid of the whole thread without deleting all the contributions made by yourself.  If you delete all the contributions you made to the thread then it will disappear from the My Threads section.  But doing that leaves holes in that person's thread.

If Genes can provide a button to delete a Watched Thread why can't they do the same for the My Threads!!!!!

Admin on there doesn't exist any more.  The site is abandoned and dying on its feet. I let my sub lapse after many years because even if it's cheap, it works out expensive if you get nothing for it.
