Place of birth
« on: Saturday 19 November 16 18:29 GMT (UK) »
Im trying to trace my great grandfather, whose name i know, but cant find where he was born to further my search in records history
So my question is if i cant find where exactly he was born where do i go next,as there are some people with same name.
I know where & date he was married, but no details of birth.
Could someone please give me some suggestions,so i can move forward.
Thank you all in anticipation

Are you going to let us into the secret of what his name was?  That might help to trace him  :o :o

If the person you are looking for is the father of Brian (Bryan) Fury then have a look at the 1911 census as it names his father and where he was born. You can then follow this person back through the censuses. However if this is the person you are after you may have a problem as the 1881 census has him down as a nurse child and there is no obvious birth for him
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.
