Can't find child on 1911 census
« on: Monday 21 November 16 18:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi :)

I am looking for a Violet May Hobby, born approx 1906 in Newport, Monmouthshire to Thomas Hobby (1869) and Sarah Joshua (who was a similar age).

Sarah died before the 1911 census, but Thomas has still recorded children. I know Violet was alive because I have found all of the children who were recorded to have died, but can not find her on the 1911 census?

I wonder if maybe she was adopted or something? Any help in finding her would be appreciated!

Thanks, Martha :)

There is a Violet May Forward on the 1911 census born Newport Monmouthshire but living in Cornwall.

Could be worth looking into as I can't see a birth for a Violet May Forward in Monmouthshire 1905-1906

No I think you can forget this one. There is a birth in Monmouthshire in 1904

On the 1901 census, the Forward family are at 12 Durham Road, Newport  RG13; Piece: 4961; Folio: 64; Page: 15

Just seen Crisane's edit - so maybe not this one!

Please remember that Rootschat's 1911 'no look-up' policy has not changed.
