James Humm

I am trying to find records of this man who was my great great grandfather who married (I believe)
a Sarah Ann Biggs in 1861(?) although I cannot find a marriage record.
He had served time as a private in The Queens Regiment.
Sarah Ann had previously been married to a corporal John Spriggs of The Rifle Brigade who died in Malta in 1859. Any information greatly appreciated.David

Rosie, Do you have any census records prior to 1871? I have suspicions he was serving overseas prior to that year. Thanks david

Ancestry has him as Thumm in 1851(comes from a large family) and Hummer in 1841 - have you tried a trial subscription to their site?

Or from IGI

Good Suggestions! My Ancestory has expired & I will renew in the New Year as funds as a pensioner are tight. Will persuade my family to get as Xmas present.
Will apply for his marriage cert some time this week, can only thank you good folks for your help.David
