« on: Saturday 26 November 16 10:06 GMT (UK) »
Hello
I am looking for information on Joshua Mitchell of Huddersfield around 1780, he would be my 5 Greats Grandfather. He had a son called Thomas, Thomas married Nancy and they had a son also called Joshua in 1807, I have census information for this Joshua.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks Jackie.
I have the name Nancy on a Baptism record, and Nanny on census, so I guess it's quite probable that this is the one. I guess I need their marriage certificate to confirm who the father of Thomas is.
Thanks Again
Dave

The is a baptism for a Thomas Mitchell st St Peter, Huddersfield in 1757 with father Joshua. That's the only one I can find.

Possible baptism for Joshua 1728 St Peter Huddersfield father Thomas
Possible marriage for Joshua 1751 St Peter Huddersfield to Mary Smith

Not sure what you are looking for around 1780.

Emeltom
Smith Tiplady Boulton Branthwaite King Miller Woolfall Bretherton Archer and many more

Thanks Jackie, much appreciated, I'm learning fast.

And thanks Emeltom. I have the date of 1782 linking Joshua to Sir John Ramsdon, who I gather was the local Lord of the manor, at this time Joshua has four children one of which is Thomas. I'm curious to find out more about Joshua.
