John Truswell Doughty, late of Manchester, is earnestly requested to communicate with his friends in England, or with his brother, William Doughty, King William street, Hamilton, Canada, West.

The brother William could be this one :-

William Doughty baptism 2nd April 1820 St Giles, Edingley Father William Mother Ann, in 1841 Census :-

Selina 10 b Yorkshire
Residing at Langold, Letwell, Worksop
Census ref HO107/1331/ 13/4 / 13

Selina married a William Askew September qtr 1863 Worksop 7b 37

And a Mary Ann Hawson b c 1825 married a James Birch Dec qtr 1862 Worksop 7b 75, is she the Mary A Howson/Hawson with John Edward Doughty aged 8 b Worksop in 1861 and Mary Ann Doughty with Selina & father in 1851?

  I wish they would, a lot of work has been carried out, a couple of visits to view possibly but no replies, never mind fascinated with this family so will plod on

1841 census a Mary Doughty 15 along with other Servants is working for a John Truswell 45 in Farnsfield

Can see it's Birch, sorry was looking for Mary B's poss birth Yorkshire but it's not happening and so taken a while to reply!
