Parents of John Isaac Edwards (1816-)

Hi all

I'm trying to find the parents of John Isaac Edwards. From census records he's born around 1816 in Narberth and goes by the name of John, Isaac or John Isaac. He marries Charlotte Rees from Carmarthen at some point before 1833. I have found a record of a John Edwards baptised in Narberth in 1814, son of Hugh and Martha. I would be more confident with this but none of his descendants are called Hugh or Martha. There is an Isaac Edwards baptised in Penally in 1816, son of Charles and Mary (he does have descendants called Charles and Mary), but Penally is quite far from Narberth. Any ideas?

If he married before 1833 he was very young although the 1851 shows him as 36 and Charlotte 37

1841 has a son Richard aged 8

Yes very young! It's frustrating as I can't find a record of their marriage either.

Banns were read 9 Dec 1832 for an Issac Edwards & Charlotte Rees at Carmarthen, St Peters
They married 15 Feb 1833.Both signed.Issac a Bookbinder.Witnesses  ? Lloyd and Charlotte Jones

I found a Baptisum for a Charlotte Rees at Carmarthen St Peters

Born 17 Mar 1808
Baptised 17 April 1808
Daughter of Samuel & Mary

Isaac, Son of Charles/Mary doesnt seem to have married til 1848;

1851 we have;
Isaac Edwards, 36, Stone Mason, born Penally, Pembrokeshire
Mary Edwards, 26
Jane Edwards, 2
Charles Edwards, 6mths   

1861 they have 2 extra Children Lydia 8 and Thomas 6
Childrens Baptisms are on FreeREG in Penally so he doesnt seem to have strayed from where he was born.

GRO should have Mothers mn, but a couple of possibles dont!

He was Bapt as Charles Tovey Edwards 26 Aug 1840 Swansea, Birth 23 July, to Isaac/Charlotte

Evan 1851 has Mother as nee Rees

Ellen Jane Edwards Bapt 3 May 1837 Swansea;
Father:   Isaac Edwards
Mother:   Charlotte Rees

So lloks like the right Marriage and Mother for Children Mike

Thank you all very much for your work! Omega, that Baptism looks a possibility, the census information I have though suggests she was born between 1811-14, but then we all know how unreliable they can be! By the looks of the Baptisms of some of Charlotte and Isaac's children they were non-conformists. John Isaac is elusive as ever, but at least we've discounted the idea of him being born in Penally!
