Thanks for all the help so far....

I really appreciate the maps etc.  It has been passed onto my daughter in law and her Dad who is very excited and hopefully will get back to Mellor next year!   I am trying to find a bit more on Tarden Farm as he did live there in the war years and has some great pieces that survived and came from Mellor Hall etc.

I wonder if your knowledge you can place the Farm on the map!

I don't know it Cheran but doing a Google search its a Riding School now.
There are a number of hits with maps which will show you exactly where it is
Perhaps the now owners might know something of its history. :)
