you've missed the £6 non-certified PDF via email - so use the standard service now .... DO NOT use sites that advertise online - this is the Official site.

Copies of BMD certs cost £9.25 each including postage
The GRO recently introduced a facility to obtain mothers maiden name for birthS before September qtr 1911 without having to buy a copy of the birth cert. Particularly useful when you are researching a common surname like Smith or Jones or have found more than one possible birth entry
Death registrations prior to the mid-1860's do not show ages which can make it difficult to determine if you have the right entry. You are now able to obtain the age at death via the same link as for maiden name
You have to register with the GRO (free) to access the facility which is also free

Marriages - I would, firstly, see if the images appear on the various internet sites. Reason - if you are able to download them then you will have the original signatures of all the parties - a bonus
. Otherwise it's a copy from GRO.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids. They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
