White and Meagher Families Newmarket-on-Fergus
« on: Monday 19 December 16 02:48 GMT (UK) »
Searching for info on James White, married Anne Meagher 2/6/1852 Newmarket on Fergus; James was recorded as a retired farmer on their son's death cert in Warwick Qld Aust in 1918.

Their son Patt White baptism date 27 Jan 1854, spon Pat Maher, Catherine Maher, Newmarket on Fergus, Barony of Bunratty Lower, civil Parish of Tomfinlough Ennis.

Patt came to Australia about 1875.

Wondering if Patt had any siblings!

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Roxy :)

You've posted this in IRELAND RESOURCES board which isn't for queries so it may get overlooked.

To get it moved to CLARE board where it belongs just click on 'report to moderator' and ask for it to be moved  :)

Catholic Parish registers now online for many places although dates vary- have you checked there yet?

Roxy,
Your information matches the White records found on the Newmarket on Fergus Catholic Parish register available free on registers.nli.ie
In addition I found a sister of Patt's = Mary White Baptised Feb 6 1856.
You will need to spend some time checking all the records as they are difficult to read.
Good Luck.
Paddy

I replied by PM on 1 July but have not heard from you.  My ggrandfather was Patrick White, and he came to Australia in about 1876 and settled in the Warwick district of Queensland.  His parents James White and Annie Meagher or Maher.
Cheers
Roxy :)
