Welcome to Rootschat.

Is this Mary Bird Stephenson born about 1786 in Beverley, East Yorkshire, married William Warrener in 1809 in Hull? She appears in the 1851 census as a schoolmistress and 1861 as a governess. However, given her age in 1851 ie 65 and the fact that she was married, she wouldn't be a teacher as we know them in a school, as they had to stop teaching on marriage at that time. She was probably just someone who taught a few children to read, write, sew or similar in her own home.
