William Broomfield Allan/Jane Paterson
« on: Tuesday 20 December 16 10:45 GMT (UK) »
Completely lost in the search for Jane Paterson, born c1846 in Stow, Midlothian.    Father Henry Paterson (1807-1877) and Mother Elisabeth Adamson (1810-1856).

On the census front I have her up to 1861..    She is then a witness to her sister Marys wedding in 1869.

Jane then marries William Broomfield Allan on 23 June 1871 in Humbie, Haddington (sister Jessie  witness).    Both shown as age 21 on MC.

After that absolutely nothing

grateful for any help.    Have wasted quite a few credits on the SP site which I find terrible to use.   The search engine is hopeless!

how do you do it!    I have spent all weekend and a lot of cash with no results and you come up trumps in seconds.    OOOOps just noticed that he appears to have been married as Allan (with no father shown on MC) and now reverts to his middle name Broomfield.

Thank you very much

Harry

many many thanks.    This is them.    The John Paterson with them in 1891 is her brother.   I have since found that Jane died in 1915.

its sad about her brother - he was born deaf and dumb and died in hospital in 1900 a down and out of no abode.    The informant on his DC is a nurse in the hospital.
