Occupation: Headmaster. Find school records?

Hi

On my relatives death certificate it states he was a retired School Headmaster and this is also listed on the 1939 census.

Is it possible to look through school records to find more information or photos?

As a Headmaster he may have been provided with a house near the school. You need to find him on the Electoral Rolls pre retirement.

Possibly. It would depend on which schools he was employed by and if they kept records and photographs, Newspapers might also be a source.

I found quite a lot about a relative who was a teacher using school records, etc. from his first post to his being head of a Bluecoat school in Liverpool.

He lived in West Bromwich in 1939 when he was listed as a headmaster. At some point between '39 and his death (1992) he lived in Birmingham.

Find My Past has the Teachers' Registration Council Registers 1914 - 1948 he may appear there. They are in the Education and Work section under Occupations.
