Look up request: Frances BELCHAMBER
« on: Friday 23 December 16 19:59 GMT (UK) »
Frances Belchamber married Richard Mills in Lyminster, Sussex, on February 20, 1805. Their son, Richard, was born in 1817 in Brighton. Please can one of you amazing people help me find out the identify of Frances' parents?

Thank you so much.

Fleur xx

P.s. how can I mark a completed look up request as "competed"??

This is a possibility:

Fanny BELCHAMBER  bpt 7 May 1786 at Lyminster, daughter of George & Hannah Belchamber

I can't find a Frances Belchamber around this time and all the other Fanny Belchambers would either be too young to marry in 1805 or were born well into the 19th century.

Other children of George & Hannah:
Richard bpt 31 Mar 1793
Ann bpy 6 Mar 1796

George appears to have been buried age 70 at Lyminster on 21 Nov 1830.  He had been in Preston Workhouse when he died.

A burial for Hannah in Lyminster on 3 Oct 1824 aged 65 - residence given as Wick.

Marriage licence: 19 Sep 1785 Chichester
George BELLCHAMBER, of Liminster (11 mths) husbandman bachelor age 23 &  Hannah GRAY, of Bury (2 yrs) spinster age 24
Bondsmen: George Belchamber & Edwd GRANTHAM of Bury farmer

They married the following day at Bury

And interestingly, a licence was applied for two years previously:

5 Jul 1783
George BELCHAMBER, of Littlehampton (6 mths] husbandman bachelor age 22 & Hannah GRAY, otsp (1 mth) spinster age 22 to marry at Littlehampton
Bondsmen: George Belchamber & Clement UPPERTON of Bury yeoman
