Parents of Edward Greenough B 1765 Married Elizabeth (Betty)Leech
« on: Sunday 25 December 16 19:11 GMT (UK) »
I have hit a brick wall with this.  Am seeking the parents of Edward Greenough of Winwick, Sutton,Lancashire.  Edward was born 1765, married 1817 and died Ditch Hillock, Sutton in 1849 but can find no record of his or his wife's parents names.  It is possible that his mother was a Mary Greenhow but have no concrete evident.  Does anyone out there have any information?

In 1851 Elizabeth (Leech) is a widow and as well as daughter Phoebe, she is with a son called Charles who is a 42 year old widower, so born well before the 1817 marriage.
I think very probably Edward and Elizabeth had both been married before.  A man born in 1765 would surely not wait till he was in his 50's, and there is also quite a difference in age between Edward and Elizabeth.

Hello - I did not know that, I thought Ellen was the first.
How can I be sure this is the same Edward Greenough (Greenhough) that went on to married Ellen then Elizabeth Leech.  Can you point me to your findings page please  :)
