Foster Scott, Durham, Ontario
« on: Friday 30 December 16 19:20 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to trace descendents of Foster Scott who emigrated from County Cavan, Ireland, to Ontario in the 1850s. He was my father's great uncle. I know that he had 10 children and was a farmer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, that is the correct family. Foster is quite an uncommon christian name for a Cavan man. I am hoping to trace some of the surviving descendents. My branch of the Scott family tend to reuse the same christian names - Thomas, William and George, so I'm hoping that might help somewhat

The last census in Canada was 1921 - there is no BMD index - privacy laws are quite strict and vary province to province.  So researching can be quite difficult.

Daughter Sarah Ann Scott born 1861 Ontario passed away 31 December 1932 - informant Addie Scott. Father Foster Sctt - Mother Fanny Scott - Burial Bowman Cemetery.
