174 Field Ambulance
« on: Monday 02 January 17 00:31 GMT (UK) »
I would be most grateful for any information / photographs, of 174 Fd Amb between the years 1942 to Feb 1945.  My dad was a stretcher bearer during that period, and was shot by a sniper in Feb 45.

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_q=174+field+ambulance has two war diaries and a set of reports and returns.  You will need to visit Kew or arrange for them to be copied.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Thank you for your reply Max.  I live in Ottawa, Canada, and a trip to Kew at this time, is not that feasible.

The information has been duly noted, and once again - thank you.

Too far for a day trip!  The National Archives do offer a rather expensive copying service but there are completely reliable and less expensive services available.  If that should be of interest, send me your direct email in a Personal Message on here and I'll be happy to advise further.
