Ward Cemetery, Marlborough ... still standing after EQs??
« on: Thursday 05 January 17 00:49 GMT (UK) »
I passed through Ward last year while seeking out buried relatives.
I found a relative in Ward Cemetery and was wondering if his headstone is still standing.

His was a rather large one at the back on the left, John BELL.

If anyone is passing by I would appreciate a heads up as to whether he has survived the earthquakes.

Cheers.

That sounds about right. I am away from home at the moment so can't access my records.

I'm in Blenheim but don't go out to Ward, have you considered asking on the Facebook group freeconomy Marlborough as there are people who live there on that page who could have a look for you, if it was Omaka Cemetery I'd be happy to look as it is near me

Are you aware of any EQ damage at Omaka? One of John BELL's children is buried there near the curved RSA section.

Perhaps you could contact the Council about any earthquake damage?

do you have someone there, if so I'm happy to go and check, the cemetery was tapped shut for several days after the earthquake
