BIRTH LOOK UP: Mary Robison 1852/3
In all census from 1861 Mary states her birthplace as Edinburgh/Midlothian/Scotland but haven't been able to find her birth details at all.
In 1861 she's down as Mary Robertson age 6, granddaughter, living with John 1801 & Dinah 1802 Gordon nee Swales at Newcastle
In 1871 she's Mary Robinson age 17, granddaughter, still with John & Dinah Gordon at Hetton le Hole, Co Durham.
In 1881 she's Mary Lindsley, wife to William Lindsley, living with her children but still with Dinah Gordon, widow, at Hetton le Hole.
Marriage certificate of 10 July 1871 at Lyons Parish Church, Easington Lane, Co Durham, states name as Mary Robison age 18, father Thomas Robison, Hawker, married to William Lindsley age 19, Hawker son of Robison Lindsley, Hawker. Witnessed by John Cunningham who was William's brother-in-law and Hannah Forrest.
Now, all of these families were hawkers and travellers. I haven't been able to show an actual link between Mary Robison and John & Dinah Gordon other than John & Dinah had a son John 1824-1900 who married a Mary Robinson 1830-1913. This Mary Robinson had a brother Thomas b@1832, who could potentially have been Mary Robison's father. He too was a hawker and his father Thomas Robinson 1780 born Yetholm, Scotland was also a hawker.
So I'm actually trying to find Mary Robison/Lindsley's birth and hopefully her mother. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been searching for Mary's birth details for years.
