I'm assuming that you got George's age, etc. from the censuses. In 1841, he's living at PenyPark
(Halton/Black Park area a few miles from Chirk Village,):

PenyyPark
George Pritchard, 25-29, coal miner, b. county
Elizabeth, -do-
Eleanor, 8
Samuel, 7
Sarah, 4

A few doors away is a possible for brother, Thomas:
Thomas Pritchard, 35-39, coal miner, b. county
Rebecca, 30-34
Elizabeth, 9
John, 7
Sophia, 4
Mary, 3
Maria, 1

Strange and will need checking - I'm not sure that the George who married Elizabeth Roberts in Pontfadog/Llangollen, is the same one who was baptised in Chirk in 1814!

On the 1851 census, he's down s being born Llandysilio (Llantysilio, near Llangollen). I've not found them in 1861 or a baptism for George in Llantysilio or Llangollen.

Before I check any further, can you tell me from where you got the information about George.

I see that all this was discussed on a thread back in March last year:

Could I ask why you repeated the request?

thank you yes
I think I may have caused a muddle with the info I provided,as you say George is down as being born in llandisillio but the the later census do link him to being born in chirk.
and what I am trying to do is somehow link up his parents to him
have looked in Clwyd family history but can find no marriage of Thomas and ann around this date, and the only one that looks possible is the marriage in st oswalds Oswestry in 1804.but I have no evidence to prove that link and that is what I am trying to establish now.sorry if I have caused confusion.thank you.brian

Hi Brian

Could you say what you have for George that is definite - what is the last census that you have him on? when and where did he die? Any other information that might be relevant.

I know that the 1851 census at pentre chirk is correct regarding all the names giving George aged 35 and Elizabeth aged 37.the reason is the Samuel son of George I can trace back directly.
Samuel on this census is aged 15
this record was from find my past
thank you.brian

I've found a few deaths but not convinced  by them. It might be that they were in the Ruabon area in 1861 and some of the pages are missing (some of mine were on these).  I see that both Samuel and brother John say they were born Ruabon in later censuses.

Were they non-conformist (Methodist)?

Are you sure about the 1865 death because that age fits with the baptism of a George Pritchard in Gresford -

23 Oct1808, George son of Edward and Mary of Burton

(Burton became pat of  Rossett parish in 1840)
