Yes, we're pursuing that line too but I think from all angles the birth cert is the missing piece of the jigsaw

Since the parents weren't married then Patrick was probably registered under mother's name (rather than Perkins) and without that bit of information it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to find the birth certificate.

Yep, and that's my problem!

But I'm narrowing it down. I'm getting lists of Patrick John's born in Scotland in 1917, that are within close distance of either Glasgow or Edinburgh (I've ruled out Glasgow now as the 3 Patrick John's have named fathers, also Edinburgh as there are no Patrick Johns born there.)

Hopefully I'll get there.🤞
