Manawakian, thank you.    Back to basics,it looks likely that this guy Frederick William Montague Dyer or Cross born Dorchester 1902 does not appear to fit into my Dyer family lines at the moment, until I have confirmed the origins of the George Dyer who appears to have brought him up.

Will however post this Baptism for him.
Frederick William Montague James CROSS ,male, dob unknown,Baptism 22 June 1904 Bedminster Somerset father,James Cross, mother Catherine.

Its been very interesting sorting out this families emigration to British Columbia, which am sure will be of use to other researchers in due course. Thanks again.

Brionne, I promise this is my last kick at the Dyers.

In about 1829, George and Charlotte DYER had a son named George born in Wilton.  George junior married Mary Ann MACKLIN Jan-Mar 1860 in Wilton.  George's surname is recorded as DYEX for this marriage which makes it hard to find.  The newly married couple can be found living with his parents in the 1861 Wilton census.  Sadly George junior dies Apr-Jun 1870 in Wilton, months before his son George the third was born 12 Aug 1870.  The widow Mary can be found with months old George 3 in the 1871 Wilton census.  George 3 goes on to marry Louise/Lucy RENDELL and move to Canada where he dies in BC.

Hi again M,    Many thanks for your time on this post.your theory certainly answers a lot of questions, thanks.           Quite a milestone for me,my One Thousandth Post.
Have not been able to fit this George Dyer c1827 ish yet into my own lot but will get there eventually.

Have another Dyer family in BC around same time frame.

Montague Robert Dyer death 31 May 1960 New Westminster British Columbia. Blacksmith. Wife,Ethel Abercrombie Dyer, father William Watson Abercrombie, born Ontario ,a farmer.
Son of  Alfred Dyer, and Edith Legge, he is buried  Mountain View,Vancouver.
He worked for Balsom and Co,  a Blacksmith.lived BC for 53 years, so emigration circa 1907.
Have all the gen on this family from Family Search, but need to see if or how the above George Dyer family fit in if at all.
Dyer family members stemming from Wiltshire are extremely plentiful,to get it correct is not easy.
Thanks again Brionne.

Beginning to see some light here.

George Dyer born 1869 Wilton Wiltshire and his sister Sabina are both Paupers 1881 census.

Obviously part of reason George Dyer  took in Frederick  his wifes sisters child, and they later emigrated to British Columbia circa 1919. Brionne.
