Habershon
« on: Tuesday 10 January 17 18:09 GMT (UK) »
Am trying to trace the mother of Henry Habershon. Born around 1837. He married Emma Cottam in 1859 ay Manchester Cathedral he was a tailor. In a later census he was known as Henry Habershon Spurr. Emma had a son called George but married Henry after he was born. George kept the name of Cottam Spurr but no one knows where the name comes from. All i can guess is Henry mothers name was Spurr but i cant find any records of Henrys parents marriage

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat :)

Have you found Henry on the 1841/1851 census? Do you know if he had any siblings?

I note from Henry's marriage cert that his father was also called Henry, occupation - butcher.

JJ

No i couldnt find him on any early census only when he was married to Emma and living with her and their son George.I did try once sending for his birth certificate in the hope that maybe his mother was unwed . But it came back as no record found.
