Henry Dowling born 1810 Gloucester
« on: Friday 13 January 17 11:03 GMT (UK) »
Henry Dowling junior was educated in Essex before travelling to Tasmania where he took on the role of immigration agent for the colony. His father Henry senior, was a Baptist minister who settled firstly in Hobart and then Launceston, Tasmania. I am trying to find out if Henry recruited people to emigrate from the south west of England to Tasmania. I know that he had lots of success in East Anglia, but as he was born in Gloucester and his father was from Somerset he may have had connections in the region.
