1841 census occupation and family members - can anyone help?

Hi all,
Can anyone assist with the extract below from the 1841 census? I am trying to decipher William Hawking's occupation which, to me, looks like "Colset" or "Collet" but neither of these sound like jobs! Also, I am trying to confirm the names of his family - I think it's Eliz[abe]th, Richard, Bessie and Rosia, but am suspicious of Bessie because there looks to be an "f", and Rosia looks like it might begin with a "B"!

Could the occupation be Collier?

The "B" of Bessie and the "R" of Rosa look different?
So I think the last person is indeed Rosa/Rosia.

Bessie is spelled with a long s (commonplace back then). It should be written as ſ.

Please remember that, as family relationships are not given on the 1841 census, there is no proof that these are sons and daughters of William?
They most probably are, but they could also be  nephews, nieces, or unrelated!

Living in Lambeth, I doubt he would be a collier.

I can suggest Collector, but not convinced.

Thanks both. I should have mentioned that, if they are the same person (which I am sure they are) the William Hawking I have records for was a schoolmaster on records in 1825, 1829, 1850 and his probate entry in 1868.

It is not "f" it is a long "s"

Is this the William Hutchings Hawking who died in 7th November 1868, school master on his probate entry?

If so, he had re-married in 1856, to Jane Battershall, and his occupation shown on the register is 'Collector'.

Hi I took a look at several of his records on Ancestry. All state that he is a school master, but i cant decipher the 1841 census.

His full name William Hutching/s HAWKING
His wife was Elizabeth Priscilla HAWKING
Son William Richard Caunter HAWKING
Daughter Bessie Caunter HAWKING and Rosa Esther Caunter HAWKINGS,

I cannot find William at all in the 1851 or 1861 censuses to find out what his occupation was at that time.

I see he was born in Cornwall c. 1798. He should be with wife Elizabeth in 1851 and 2nd wife Jane in 1861
