John Brace
« on: Thursday 19 January 17 22:27 GMT (UK) »
Can anybody help with the marriage of John Brace to Eleanor (possibly Worthing) around 1820? In 1825 they baptised their daughter Eliza in Newchurch so I have assumed that they married their or in Presteigne. I believe John may have been a saddler/harness maker.
I think John was born around 1800 but confirmation of this would be helpful.

You can now search the GRO online for mothers maiden names on births pre-1911 using the info from the freebmd entry   www.freebmd.org.uk

Daughter Ellen was born Presteigne 1841 and search shows Eleanor was nee Worthing

The family are in Dilwyn Herefordshire in 1851 and John is shown as b 1807 Presteigne but was 40 in 1841.  Image unclear as to his age but I would guess he was 54 rather than 44.

Eleanor 1801 Huntington Herefordshire
