Jeremiah Donoghue/Donohue
« on: Saturday 21 January 17 14:48 GMT (UK) »
. Hoping someone can help me.  Have been looking for ages for my 3x great grandfather, Jeremiah Donoghue/Donohue, born around 1831 in Bermondsey area.  I already have his marriage Certificate, but it would be great to have his baptismal record.  Can anyone advise which Research Office would be best for this information?  Many thanks.

Welcome to rootschat, ylfrettub,

Have you found him in 1841 and 1851 censuses etc, and what is his Father's name from that marriage certificate?

Nothing to add for you but you are so lucky to have a forename quite unique as I have the same surname with 12 variations to date but none of the forenames are unique unfortunately.

My only addition is that the surname (in my tree) is of Irish origin which may help you on earlier dates  :-\

Yes Rosie, that is correct.  My Jeremiah was living with the Bell family in 1851 at 4 Brooks Square, St. John's, Southwark.  But where do I go from here in obtaining his baptismal record?  Many thanks.

Yes I have Jeremiah in both of these Censuses, and his Father was also a Jeremiah! Where do I go from here?  Many thanks.
