George Pengelley CHARLES, born c1828/9, Plymouth
« on: Sunday 22 January 17 21:35 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I wonder if anyone has any information, no matter how small, about George Pengelley CHARLES after 1848.......please ignore his criminal record and transportation to Western Australia in 1844   He is supposed to have returned to England in 1848 aboard the Hindoo.   I have not been able to trace any details about him or his family in Devon.

He seems something of a lost cause 8)

For the moment,

BAC3

Could he be the George Charles in prison in West Dean Glos in 1851.  Without a middle name could be difficult to cross check but this one was 22 and a labourer.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

I have looked at the George CHARLES "possibles", including convicts, through the various Ancestry/FindMyPast/FamilySearch indexes but, sadly, none look likely to be "probables" ???
