The birth date of George Burrows Rose 1785 ties in with the marriage of George Rose & Mary Tandy at St Paul, Deptford 31 Dec 1782.

According to this tree they had Edward, Henry & 3 daughters in between George Burrows & John Burrows but no dates shown.



Henry Rose b Thame c1796-8 appears in Stokenchurch with wife Kezia 1841-1871.  Their children include a son Henry Burrows Rose born Stokenchurch c1839.

Edited to add: the son was registered as Henry Burroughs Rose, Jun qtr 1839 Wycombe, mmn Coventry.

Just found a possible death for George Rose the husband of Mary Tandy at the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Chislet, Kent.

He died 12 April 1829 aged 73 which makes him born in 1756.

Still can't find a baptism for him as I am hoping his father may be Edward. Nothing in the newspapers or probate records that I can see.

Sorry, I think I am missing something but cannot see it mentioned.  How do you know that George Rose & Mary Tandy are the parents of  John Burrows Rose & George Burrows Rose.

All I have to go off is the hand written tree I mentioned earlier. At the moment I have no way of proving this only that they named their first son George.

Just wish we could find the baptismd of the children.

I have a copy of the will of Edward Rose the husband of Ann Burrows and am trying to interpret the writing. It is beautifully written but so hard to read.

He leaves money to his son Edward, his daughters Phyllis & Nancy and grandchildren Ann, Nancy, Phyllis, Hannah & Edward and the four grandchildren of his late son John. No mention of a George unfortunately.
