"Lulan" passenger list 1848 shows Macleans,
Hugh 46
Jessie 46
Marion 14
Catherine 12
Donald 8
Mary 6
according to their family tree they were from Dunganachy,
Benbecula but I can't find them in the 1841 census.

1841 Dunganachy

All surname MacLean & all born in County

Donald 80
Catherine 80
Ewen 35 (Hugh)
Marion 35
Janet 8 (Jessie)
Effy 6
Catherine 3
Donald 2 months

From looking at both, it's possible that Marion & Janet (Jessie) have been mixed up?

Effy not on the 'Lulan' possibly died?
Mary not born until after 1841

Looks as though Janet (Jessie) was mixed up with Marion on 1841 census...

Marion b 02 Jul 1833 bap. 08 Jul 1833
Henrica (Effy) b 29 Jun 1835 bap. 06 Jul 1835 (possibly died)?
Catherine b 13 Mar 1838 bap. 18 Mar 1838

Thanks Annie,
good catch. I was looking for a much older Jessie and a much younger Marion.
I am not sure why I couldn't find Hugh

Rod,

The reason is 'Hugh' is recorded as Ewen on 1841

Hugh is 1 of many variants of the name Ewen/Ewan.

It may be easier now to locate them using Donald (who appears to be his father)?
