Baptism/Christening/Birth Record c.1906 Pendock
« on: Thursday 02 February 17 14:36 GMT (UK) »
I have an ancestor named WILLIAM YOUNG who reports his birth date anywhere between 1802-1808 but mostly around 1806. He constantly names PENDOCK as his place of birth and I would dearly love to find him.

Online Pendock Church records for baptisms don't show him but his 1831 born son (also William) was baptised at Newent Wesleyan Methodist Chapel on Culver Street so he is likely to be a methodist. There was a methodist chapel in Pendock but it wasn't built until the 1830s so I'm struggling here.

He lived most of his life at Cook(e)s Lane, Redmarley which has, on occasions, been referred to as Cook(e)s Lane, Bromsberrow and may actually be his place of birth as Pendock is just as close as either of those !!!

If anybody can offer any help or guidance, I would be eternally grateful.

Have you found him on the  1939 register as that should give a birth date

I do apologise Rosie - I think I'm losing my marbles with this one !

The dates are 1800s not 1900s and I have changed my original post accordingly.

Sorry for that wild goose chase ..... life would be easier if it was a 1906 birth date !!!

I must admit I rechecked your dates after I had posted but as they were both 1900's I left it as it was.  I did wonder where you were getting the place of birth from.  Back to searching  ;D
