Have you checked the Surname Interests Board - link at bottom of page under "Tools"

1901 has 19 entries for that surname in Angus - none born or living in Coupar

There are 2 entries for Coupar Angus Perthshire

My husbands family tree has a "Symington". Her name is Margaret Horsburgh Symington, married James Slimming 24 Aug 1900 in Glasgow. Her parents were William Symngton and Flora Osborne.

Her address at the time of marriage is 244 St George's Road, Glasgow.

I'm sorry that I don't have more information on her but they are very much twigs on my husbands tree.
