Aldridge connection in Ryton/Whickham

Hi all,

As i have become frustrated with researching other people in my tree I've moved back onto my successful ones " The Aldridges".

Thanks to some great transcribed info from the above parishes records, I have found John Aldridge ( 6th gg) born in Ryton in 1718. I am sure he married Mary Cotterill in 1740.

So am now trying to find John's parents. Does anyone have access to more records going back that far in co Durham ? I'm so curious as to how/ why /when they resided in that area.

According to Durhamrecordsonline.org John Aldrige was baptised 1718 abode given as Winlaton. This is a pay to view site so I can't get the dtails but familysearch has the same info and gives the father as Richard.

Searching Durhamrecordsonline looking for surname Aldridge and father Richard you get the following baptisms Surnames as per the results

Elizabeth Aldrett (Aldridge) 1698
Jane Alwritt (Aldridge) 1700
Richard Aldridge 1701
Jane Aldridge 1705
Mary Aldridge 1707
Ann Aldridge 1709
Edward Aldridge 1714
Elizabeth Aldridge 1715
John Aldrige 1718

The abode for all is Winlaton about 3km from Ryton
