« on: Saturday 04 February 17 00:35 GMT (UK) »
I found this link when googling the former address of a relative. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Thanks!

A notice of a businessman who went bankrupt. Lists of bankrupts  were published in The Gazette and in provincial newspapers.
I think the bottom line:  "Date of Release-June 1, 1934"  was the date on which the bankruptcy was  "discharged". Creditors would not be able to make a claim against his assets after this date. He would then be eligible to set up a new business if he wished.
A brother of my3xGGF went bankrupt in Manchester in 1830s. His bankruptcy was published in The Gazette and in newspapers throughout Britain.
Look up bankruptcy law and  procedure for more information. Terms such as "Official Receiver" will be explained.

I think this is the right date but I can't work out how to "browse" the newspaper:
https://www.thegazette.co.uk/all-notices/publish-date/1934-06-22/notice?location-distance-1=1&categorycode-all=all&numberOfLocationSearches=1&results-page-size=10

(I thought that an earlier page might give a heading to say what those notices refer to) :-\
