Sellindge Kent burial
« on: Saturday 04 February 17 09:28 GMT (UK) »
Is there any kind soul who can look at a burial in the Sellindge Parish Registers?

There is a record on familysearch for the burial on 16 February 1699 of Matthew, husband of Elizabeth Newman.  I would dearly love to know what the original entry actually says.

I don't have access to the original, but transcripts made by the Kent family history society give the following, if that's any help:

St Mary the Virgin
16th February 1698/9
Matthew NEWMAN, householder, otp.  Buried in Woollen.

Thank you Betty, that helps a lot.  I wonder where the "husband of Elizabeth" crept in.
