A try from me.
One or two things have caught my eye while I have been restoring this. The boy next to Charlie, the first boy on the right, front row, what has he got in his arms, I thought at first a log, but could it be a cat?
Also the first boy on the right, back row, seems to have a metal tube in his arms, I can't make it out to be a musical instrument, or is it? The boy second in from the left, back row, is that something in his arms also, or is it a crack in the photo?
It is surprising what you see, or don't see, when you really concentrate on something.

Trishanne ...The more I look at this wonder if perhaps the boy has his arm in a sling ?

Yes, it could be a sling but I just can't work out his arms at all, I was trying to find out which were his elbows and what the other shapes are !! :-\ He looks as if he is tied in a knot  ;D
