Plan of Wigtownshire Churchyards Including register of names 1800 - 1950

Hello

Can anyone assist.  I am looking for details of persons buried at various churchyards in Wigtownshire from 1800 thro to 1950.  In particular the following churchyards: Cairnryan, Inch, Leswalt Old and New, Stoneykirk and Kirkmaiden.  If details exist, is there one place where these records might be kept?  Thank you for any help.

Have you tried contacting Dumfries and Galloway Council? Given that you are looking for details up the 1950s, this might be a good starting point for you as will this group here www.dgfhs.org.uk/resources.asp

This looks to be what is a listing of some of the published monumental inscriptions for Wigtownshire www.nls.uk/family-history/gravestones/inscriptions/county.cfm?id=36  This listing linked here is from the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh (their records are not available online).

Family History Groups in individual areas can also have these as booklets and other details available.

In addition, there will be other listings online such as here http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ainsty/chapple/sorbie_working.html although I don't think these include the areas you mention unfortunately.

A London girl, she fell in love with the beauty of the Western Highlands and settled in Ardnamurchan in the 1920s. MIs in Stranraer Book 1 (there are 3 books) covers The Old Kirkyards on Church St, Bridge St, Thistle St, Dalrymple St, Ivy Place......The second book covers Sheuchan Cemetery.. I dont have .. and the third book covers the extension in the same cemetery also the names listed on the War memorial in Lewis street ... I dont have

I am looking for information about the cemeteries in Stranraer. I have an Agnes McNab nee Jackson who died in 1866 and I can't work out where she might have been buried. She died in Queen street.

Does anyone know the date that Glebe cemetery was opened?

Most of all I am trying to find anything about her husband James McNab or McNaby or even McNabney, sherrif officer. I know nothing except the name and even that has been listed in various ways on the children's certs. He may have died before 1841.
