Hi All,
Literally tearing my hair out on this one and wonder if anyone could assist please in solving this part of the Parry family tree.
I cannot seem to find anything that matches up either before 1901 or after 1901 for John Parry.
The only confirmed entries for anything I can find on him are his marriage certificate which states as follows:
John Parry (21), bachelor, fitter’s labourer, son of Owen Parry, collier, of 162 Oxford Street, Pontycymer married Mary Ann James (21) spinster, daughter of William James, colliery overman, of 3 Church Street, Blaengarw at Register office, Bridgend on Thu April 18 1901
I have also found him on the 1901 census just prior which shows him aged 22 (I think we can forgive 1 year) but if this is the right one he is working as a Blacksmith when only a month later when he gets married he's a fitter's labourer. There is an Owen Parry (Collier) (born 1850/1851) with him and he address is the correct one - 162 Oxford Street in Pontycymer (Llangeinor) so this must be John Parry. Owen is with what seems to state Catherine as his wife (born 1852/1853) and there is a Henry Parry (aged 19) but listed as a Boarder and maybe unrelated.
Jumping to 1911 I do find M.A.Parry (Mary Ann) living at 2 Church Terrace, Blaengarw with her parents (William and Mary James) which matches from the marriage and her status is married for 10 years which also matches and that they have 2 children one of which is Henry William Parry (born 1901).
On Henry Parry's marriage certificate in 1922 the only other reference to John Parry is that he is listed as Henry's father but that he is deceased and that his occupation was a Coal Hewer.
What happened to John Parry either preferably before 1901 so I can trace the family back or worse case after 1901 as I am finding nothing that matches up
Thanks
Phil
