I was putting pictures etc of the Elgin War Memorial on the IWM WMR recently.  Whilst checking dates, I came across a series of news reports around 1930 where the council decided to move the War Memorial from the Plainstones to a park.  Obviously did not happen but I wonder if anyone knows what was going on?
