Everything appears to fit.
There may have been a baptism for William and a burial for his mother Mary on the same day - 24th September 1846.
Thanks again

Great. Thanks very much Trish.
With help from a lot of you, I've answered my original questions except ...
**
When did Henry Harries take the middle name Harries? Now I am thinking that he never did and that Henry Harries Davies and our Henry Davies are two different gents who happened to be around at the same time in Llanegwad, Carms.
The 1851 that I'd saved to my tree is the only reference to Henry Harries Davies and now I believe it's the wrong one.
Where was Henry Davies in 1851?

Hi again, well there is a widowed Henry Davies aged 27 b Llanegwad shown as visitor to Lettice Jones 70 at Church Street, St Peter, Carmarthenshire, the only odd thing he is shown as Scholar?
Census Ref HO107/2473/310/4

As he had a Jones nephew visiting him in 1861, a possibility?

Thanks Keyboard.
A scholar at 37? A mature student?
We don't have anything else in 1851 for Henry, so I've added the info to my tree.

If we had the dates of death for Henry's parents William and Eleanor, I would be very happy and can finish this thread.

Hi I can see where you have the age of Henry in 1851 as 37, but my site has 27, if you look at the original at the "3" 's and the "2" 's of the enumerator they have different shapes, examples directly below him?!

May have been at theological college? His obituary here http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4357085/4357093/57/typicca suggests his original plans to take holy orders as a young man were put on hold as he had to take over the family farm when his father died

Thanks so much.
Eleanor's last child was Anne baptised in 1829, so a death in 1830 seems very likely.

I had saved some articles about Henry death, but not that one which is very interesting and informative.
I think I have everything and really appreciate all the help. I apologise for the wild goose chase with the Harries middle name, but we "got to the bottom of it."
