Hi Millipede,

I'm sorry, but I think I got really confused.  :-[

I replied to the post above mine (reply 6) and hadn't noticed that it wasn't the original poster, so my response was in reply to your to your earlier post,

I managed to find a father either by luck or good detective work!

No father on the birth but when the chap married he named a father Joseph (same surname as his mother) who was an engine driver.  I thought it was made up but noticed as a young man he was lodging with a Joseph who was an engine driver.  The household overlapped 2 census pages so it was a wonder I even looked back to see who head of house was.

Anyway later on after he had married a daughter of his was on a census with Joseph the engine driver and down as granddaughter which clinched it.  So miracles do happen and you find out what seems impossible  :)

By re-reading it more carefully I think you are referring to a different missing father and how you found him (very well done by the way), now that I'm not tired it's clear  ::)

You are right miracles can happen sometimes :)

My apologies to you and everyone else reading this if I caused them to be confused too and thank you for pointing out my error. :)

Regards,
Daisy
