Finding a Birth Certificate

I have a problem!  A marriage and a death certificate with no birth certificate!  I have searched and search as much as is practical online without success!  It is likely that he may have been born in Ireland (Eire) but have had no luck there either  To to add to the confusion it would appear that his father (my husband's grandfather) has neither a death nor a birth certificate!

Are you sure his parents were married at the time of his birth, his birth could be registered under his mother's maiden name

TBH  I have not a clue!  I have posted a number of times in this forum - the one giving the most info about my father in law is "The Missing Man. Dominic Michael Stringer"

Currently I am reassessing all the info I have and hoping to collate it and follow new avenues of enquiry

Yesit is.  though there is an outsside chance the d.o.b. is wrong- it may have been 1922

Have you found him on the 1939 register,only available on Find My Past.

Hi Carol,

His marriage cert names his father as John Patrick and I have not been able to fibd him on 1939 register - this register does not cover Scotland where Dad may gave been at the outbreak of war
