Chilliwack Progress, 11 Jun 1941 page 8:

The obituary for John Newson Thompson only lists his surviving relatives as a brother William, and a sister, Mrs. Stewart.  There is no mention at all of a wife and daughter.

They had a son Kenneth that died in 1916 aged 3.
I am not convinced that Sheila is Johns daughter. Sheila and her mother went back to the UK either before Sheila was born or just afterwards as they appear on FindMyPast 1939 register with Edward J Rossiter whom the mother eventually married in 1956 in Hackney London.

There is a UK return passenger list Letitia - Liverpool - Montreal 27 September 1930 - shows Sheila Thompson date of birth as 12 July 1930 - Margaret (aged 32 years) and Sheila had been living at 504 1 st Ave Verdun Montreal with husband Robert Thompson. Margaret had been in Canada from ?1920 to 12 July 1930 - Is this the correct Margaret and Sheila ?
