Looking for added info on John Pope Birth 17 SEP 1739 • Winkleigh Devon and Elizbeth Skinner B Eggesford, Devon

I believe they are my 3rd great grandparents.  I have a marriage 17 Jul 1774 in Eggesford and have copies of a Bann and a marriage document.  The officiant was from Morchard Bishop and witnesses were George Davey and  William Soull ( unsure about his last name).  Seems I am unable to attach the copies

I have no parents for Elizabeth.  I believe John Pope's parents were William Pope and Joan Lake but this is anecdotal.

I believe there were the following children

John Pope was baptised 17 September 1739 in Winkleigh, parents William and Joan

William Pope and Joan Lake married 15 April 1733 in Winkleigh.

I can't find an Eggsford baptism for Elizabeth

The Eggesford connection is from a marriage Bann.

The marriage was witnessed by a  George Davey, possibly the local bishop.  However, I am not finding anything to confirm that definitively.

The other witness was  a William South.

An interesting thing just noticed while reviewing the Bann was the next one was for a Richard Pope of Brushford and a Charity Packer of Coldridge.  Unable to find Richard in my tree so perhaps a missing link or confirmation of a different Pope family in that area

Elizabeth (Skinner) POPE was buried at Brushford in 1827 aged 83 so born ca 1744. Interestingly, an Elizabeth POPE was baptised at Eggesford 14 Sep 1743, dau of Andrew & Elizabeth - however, she appears to have married in 1770.

Interesting added info on Elizabeth Skinner and the "new" Elizabeth baptized 14 Sep 1743.  Found a possible hint that mother Elizabeth was an Elizabeth Bird but no documents to support.  Nothing more on an Andrew Pope at this point

Is it possible that Elizabeth Skinner married before her marriage to John Pope?

Given her birth calculated from age at death she was around 30 when she married John.  Would that be rather late to marry?

Would the Banns or marriage note a previous marriage?
