There is also a Mary Irving born about 1826 Dumfries in the 1841 census address Bankside Civil Parish St Mungo Dumfrieshire

John Bell Irving age 65
Margaret Irving age 50
Mary Irving age 15
Andrew Irving age 13
Orginal Record on SP will give you relationship ...But I'm afraid this is all speculation ...without parent's names ...

The other sad thing is it doesn't state where born, only a 'y' or 'n' for whether born in that County.

Have you considered a variant possibly Irvine?

Added...Also maybe just with surname beginning 'C' as that may have a variant 'Cur' rather than 'Car' etc.
